Wicklow Under-21 Footballers Reach Leinster Final

Wicklow's under-21 footballers have bridged an eleven year gap by qualifying for the Leinster under-21 football final against Dublin on Sunday week following their victory over Wexford by 0-12 to 0-10 this week.
This cracking semi-final between the two neighbouring counties went to extra time after the sides were level at the final whistle. In an exciting thirty minutes, the game could have gone either way but it was Wicklow who finished the stronger and earned a place in the final.
Wexford, after playing with a strong breeze in the first half, led by 0-6 to 0-3 at the interval but it was never going to be a big enough gap with the breeze advantage going to Wicklow in the second half.
It was nip and tuck throughout the half with both sides refusing to give the advantage to each other for any lengthy period of time. The same situation applied in extra time with Wicklow proving the stronger at the end.
