Greystones Tennis Player Take Centre Stage at Tennis Legends Event

Niall Fitzgerald from Greystones, Co Wicklow and David O'Connell of Clontarf will take centre stage alongside some of the world's greats at Tennis Legends in the Odyssey Arena this week.

The two Irish tennis players will be involved in the doubles matches at the Tennis Legends event, part of the Black Rock Tour of Champions, which starts on Thursday.

Fitzgerald and O'Connell will play in all six doubles alongside American tennis ace Peter Fleming and some of those in the singles line-up.

Fitzgerald, 17, was National Indoor Champion in 2005 and landed the Danone Masters 2006 Under-18 title.

O'Connell, 26, is currently on a tennis scholarship with Dublin City University where he is ranked as number one having helped the team win the 2006 Intervarsity Tennis Competition.
