Baltinglass up game in second half for another win

BALTINGLASS remain, one of only two teams, unbeaten in the top four divisions and top the table in their division also.
The first half was even-ly contested with both sides creating some good chances. Daniel Brennan and Michael Kelly went close for Killeshin. At the other end, Luke Nolan had a shot saved by the Killeshin ‘keeper, he was set up by Paddy Farrell, Thomas Redmond sent a volley wide from three yards all in the space of the first 25 minutes.
Baltinglass had several other chances before the break, however the half ended scoreless.
The second half saw Baltinglass sharper up front and on 61 minutes, they broke the deadlock. A throw in was controlled by Thomas Redmond who crossed into the box for Richard Nolan to volley home. In control Town could have doubled their advantage four minutes later; Paddy Farrell took the ball through mid-field and with a 25 yard shot the Killeshin ‘keeper brought off an excellent save.
Again Daniel Brennan was making his presence felt up front for Killeshin and on 70 minutes he forced the Town ‘keeper, David Nolan into a super save. Then on 78 minutes from a corner kick, Town’s Luke Nolan sent the ball down and slotted home for a 2-0 lead to relieve the pressure on the reduced Baltinglass who were down to ten players since the 65 minute.
Baltinglass Town’s best players were ‘keeper David Nolan, Chris Redmond in defence, Paddy Farrell and Luke Nolan.
For Killeshin, Paddy Lawlor, Jason Brennan and Colin Fitzgerald put in good performances.
