Wicklow maintain winning run
January 14, 2007
Mick O’Dwyer’s Wicklow maintained their winning run in this year’s O’Byrne Cup with a hard-fought win over Wexford in front of 2,000 fans at Aughrim.
Wicklow 0-7
Wexford 0-5
A fine Tony Hannon score late on made the difference as the Garden County to book their place in next weekend’s semi-final against either Dublin or Westmeath.
The hosts enjoyed the better of things in the first half in particular but were still held at 0-5 apiece by the 48th minute despite having the wind at their backs.
But points from Earls - his fifth - and Hannon made the difference in the end.
