Wicklow Gap in Class Hits Armagh

LEAGUE leaders Wicklow totted up a massive 20-point win over Armagh at Arklow yesterday as they extended their unbeaten run in Division 2A to four wins from four starts.

Goal poacher supreme Wayne O'Gorman blasted two goals to the Armagh net inside two minutes of the start and thereafter the northerners were blown out of the water by the Wicklow juggernaut which has now booked a place in the league play-offs.

Wicklow's other corner-forward Enan Glynn bagged a brace of goals in the 26th and 34th minutes, full-forward Seánie Furlong grabbed the remaining goal on 32 minute, paving the way for Wicklow to retire at half-time with a virtually unassailable 5-7 to 0-4 lead after playing with the wind.

Even against the wind in the second half, Wicklow still outscored their opponents by six points to four, with Jonathan O'Neill again making a huge contribution with six points from frees.
