Three off as Sligo east past BrayMonday, August 13 2007Sligo Rovers 3-0 Bray Wanderers In-form forward pairing Matt Judge and Faz Kudozovic both found the net once more as Sligo Rovers claimed their fourth straight win on Saturday night, but the game was played in a surreal atmosphere with Bray Wanderers down to nine men for the final half hour. Judge put the home side in front after just three minutes, exploiting a terrible attempted clearance from Steve Williams to roll the ball to the unguarded net. Both Danny Ventre, the Sligo full back, and Bray forward Mark Duggan were red-carded on 30 minutes after a tackle by Ventre sparked a mass confrontation between players from both sides. Keith Long, the Bray assistant manager, was also sent to the stands – he would later be joined by boss Eddie Gormley as the night ended in real acrimony for the Seagulls. Sligo were 2-0 up shortly after the hour when Kudozovic converted from the spot after Conor O’Grady had been brought down by Clive Delaney. Delaney became the third player to see red as a result but the offence seemed to take place just outside the penalty area. Sligo grabbed their third when Stephen Manson, on as a late substitute, beat Williams before the finish. |
