The Gardens Green for Wicklow's WalshSunday, November 25 2007Any hope Bealin had of convincing him to return was ended with Walsh confirming his intention to stick with Wicklow.
"I'm very happy playing with Wicklow, and so I have no intention of moving to any other county," said Walsh. "Nobody in Carlow has been in touch with me, and even if they were, it would make no difference. "There is huge potential in this Wicklow side, as we showed when winning the Tommy Murphy Cup, and there is no reason why we can't build on that success by gaining promotion from Division Four in next year's National League," Walsh told the Irish Sun. "There's also a great set-up in Wicklow. We are very fortunate to have Mick O'Dwyer, who has been a legend in the GAA for the last 50 years. And the players are extremely well looked after by everyone on the county board. "In addition, the players are a great bunch to be involved with, there is a tremendous bond between everyone on the panel and that ensures you really look forward to going training rather than thinking if it as a chore." |
