Purcell Washes Bray AwaySaturday, April 7 2007Bray Wanderers 0-2 Shamrock Rovers A Tadgh Purcell double shot down a weakend Bray Wanderers side as Shamrock Rovers won their first away game of the season to move up to third in the table.
The Dubliners gave their travelling fans the perfect start when Purcell slotted home on 8 minutes after Derek Pender blocked down a Gary Cronin clearance. Bray without the influential Stephen Fox upfront could still have equalised on 28 minutes had Paul Dunphy done better from a David Tyrell pass. However despite a late rally from the home side it was Rovers who took all 3 points thanks to another defensive blunder. This time Stephen Gough was caught in possession and Pucell made no mistake from fifteen yards to slot home Rovers second (80). Bray Wanderers: Williams; Gough, Delaney, Derek Tyrrell, Cronin (Georgescu); Cawley, Caffrey, Duggan, David Tyrrell; O’Shea (Deans), Dunphy. Shamrock Rovers: Murphy; O’Brien, Ferguson, Ryan, Clarke; Pender (Cassidy), E. McGill, Barrett, D. McGill; Purcell, Rowe. |
