Carlow Make Fresh Walsh ObjectionWednesday, April 4 2007Carlow chiefs have sent a third letter to the Leinster Council in an effort to prevent the transfer of midfielder Thomas Walsh to Wicklow from going through.
The Barrow County had until last Sunday to lodge an objection against the switch after Walsh re-submitted his application for a transfer. The player's initial request had faltered on grounds regarding his place of residence after Carlow pushed for the provincial council to satisfy itself that there was compliance with all aspects of the transfer regulations. In their latest letter, Carlow have questioned whether Walsh is living at the address given on his transfer application. The player though is claiming he resides at an apartment in Greystones, which he is leasing from Ballymore Properties - the main sponsor of the Garden County. Unless Carlow's latest objection is ruled out, the matter will go to a third Leinster Council hearing, and Walsh will not be available for Wicklow's final regulation round Allianz National Football League Division 2B clash at home to Sligo in Aughrim on Sunday. |
