Speed Limit Review for Bray and Greystones

Green Party councillor, Deirdre de Burca, has welcomed the Draft Speed Limit Review for the Bray/Greystones Electoral Area published by Wicklow County Council. Local councillors were recently circulated with information about the proposed changes in speed limits and were asked to comment on them by mid April.

“There are a number of important changes in speed limits proposed” says de Burca. “It is proposed that a 60 km per hour speed limit would apply to the Fassaroe Rd. It is also proposed that the Upper Dargle Rd would have a speed limit of 50 km per hour. The speed limit proposed for the Southern Cross Rd is 60 km per hour and 50 km per hour for Ballywaltrim Rd and Wingfield Rd.

The Green Party councillor says that in the Enniskerry area it is proposed that the Curtlestown Rd would have a speed limit of 50km per hour. “ A speed limit of 50 km per hour is also proposed for the Kilgarron Rd, Monastery Rd and the Ballyman Rd. It is proposed that a 60km per hour speed limit should apply to the Kilcroney Rd and the Cookstown Rd, and the Knocksink Rd”.

“As far as the Greystones area is concerned, it is proposed that a speed limit of 50 km per hour should apply to Rathdown Rd, Victoria Rd, Killincarraig Rd, Trafalgar Rd, Cliff Rd , Kimberely Rd, Marine Rd, La Touche Rd and Mill Rd. A 50 km per hour speed limit has also been proposed for Kilcoole Rd, Delgany Village Rd, and Stilebawn Rd”.

The Green Party councillor says that any member of the public who has views about any of the proposed speed limits should contact any of the Bray or Greystones Local Area Councillors or e mail Wicklow County Council on porourke@wicklowcoco.ie before mid April.
