New Bus Services for Wicklow and ArklowThursday, June 28 2007A New and expanded 24-hour bus service from Arklow direct to Dublin airport is to begin in August. Buses will depart Arklow every hour between 6a.m. and 10p.m. and then depart every two hours until 6a.m.
It is understood Bus Eireann has purchased a fleet of new buses and is just waiting on approval before launching the service. Currently, Arklow bus commuters must travel via Busaras to get to the airport, a journey taking up to three hours. The new service will be direct to the airport in modern, low-floor, wheelchair accessible coaches. Bus Eireann also announced that a new service between Wicklow Town and Dublin will now depart every fifteen minutes during the day. Bus Eireann management first flagged the new commuter towns service in April, but had released no details until now. Specific changes or enhancements to the Arklow-Dublin timetable were not announced. |
