McManus 'Regrets' Greystones Marina DecisionSaturday, August 11 2007Wicklow TD and Deputy Leader of the Labour Party, Liz McManus has expressed her regret at the decision by An Bord Pleanála to grant permission for the Marina at Greystones Harbour.
“The decision by an Bord Pleanála in relation to the Greystones Harbour shows that although there is a new Government there is no new Government thinking. It is very regrettable that this decision has been made that will have considerable environmental impact to the town of Greystones. While many people had hoped that a new Green Party Minister for the Environment would have brought about a change in planning policy. This is a developer/led plan, which has been vigorously opposed at local community level. It is most disappointing that the people have been let down by a new Minister for The Environment and a Planning Board that has failed to address the genuine concerns about the environment”. |
