Hope for Collapsed Wicklow Firm's CustomersFriday, March 30 2007Most of the customers of a Wicklow company which supplied windows and doors will now receive their orders, according to its liquidator.
Wicklow-based Swedex went into liquidation last Friday with the loss of 45 jobs and 27 in a connected company. This left a number of customers uncertain about whether they would receive products they had ordered. Provisional liquidator Michael McAteer said an agreement in principle had been reached with Swedex's two main suppliers - both Estonian companies. The two firms will supply outstanding customers orders that are 'in transit'. AdvertisementBut customers are being told that the windows and doors will not be fitted as previously agreed, though these costs will be deducted from customers' bills. The liquidator says the same principle will apply to most of the windows and doors still being made in factories in Estonia. |
