Drug Link to Bray Death Investigated

It is suspected that the death of a 24-year-old man, who died suddenly in Co Wicklow in the past 48 hours, may have been cocaine related.

Paul Byrne lived with his parents and was the father of a nine-month-old baby girl.

His family has confirmed that gardaí are now investigating the suspicion that his death could have been linked to cocaine.

They are awaiting toxicology reports before the investigation progresses.

Mr Byrne's father John told RTÉ News that his son seemed fine when he went to bed on Sunday night but that he had then discovered his dead body yesterday evening after he did not wake up on Monday.

He described his son as a normal young man who had a big interest in fitness.
