Friday, June 22 2007

Sinn Fein councillor John Brady has welcomed the support he got following a motion he tabled at the Bray Town Council meeting on Tuesday night.

The motion called on the Council to begin the process of having the Bray Town Council boundaries extended, so the Council can build more social and affordable housing to deal with the housing crisis.

"There are up to 700 people on Bray's housing list alone, and we have no room to expand. The town of Bray is bursting at the seams," said the Sinn Fein Councillor.

Brady tabled the motion requesting that the officials start the expansion process "it wont happen overnight, but we need to do something to deal with the housing crisis. More greenfield sites will allow the Council build more housing and also the public infrastructure that goes along with it." Brady said.
