Bray Chamber launches Search for 'Bray Heroes'Tuesday, April 24 2007The search has been launched this week by Bray & District Chamber for the 2007 DELL Endeavour Awards heroes. The 2007 Endeavour Awards, presented by Bray Chamber and kindly sponsored by Dell, reward the Community, Commercial and Civic Heroes who have made outstanding contributions to Bray over the past 12 months.
First presented in 1981, previous winners have included World Kick-Boxing Champion Julie McHale, veteran star of stage and screen Gladys Sheehan, and rugby hero Reggie Corrigan, the teams behind Bray Summerfest, Bray Lions Club and St Fergal's Community Development, and leading businesses such as The Porterhouse Group, Ardmore Studios and many more! The DELL Endeavour Awards are presented annually by Bray & District Chamber, and is part of the Chamber's programme of 'promoting business, and supporting the community'. Launching the 27th Annual Endeavour Heroes search, Bray Chamber's Awards Co-ordinator Phyl Farrelly said now was the time for everyone to play their part in honouring Bray's heroes and champions! "This is the opportunity for everybody in our community to help honour those have shown pride in their field, whether in community, commercial, civic or sporting endeavour. The addition this year of many new award categories, including Sports Achievement of the Year and Restaurant/Bar of the Year, will add even more excitement to the annual Endeavour Awards search. Most importantly, these Awards are unique in that all recipients are nominated by the people of Bray, making the annual Endeavour Awards the premier public accolade that our community can bestow upon that great band of heroes that we have in our town," Ms Farrelly commented. Nominations are being invited by Bray Chamber and sponsors DELL from members of the public for individuals, groups or businesses in Bray and the surrounding district across a range of categories – from commercial and sporting to cultural and lifetime achievement. The categories include: • Person of the Year – The ultimate accolade!
