Brady Welcomes Signing of Bray Pool ContractFriday, April 13 2007Sinn Féin Cllr. John Brady has welcomed the signing of contracts for the swimming pool on the Southern Cross in Bray. This should mean that work on the long overdue swimming pool should start straight away.
Cllr. Brady said " Bray has been waiting far too long for a facility like this, and I welcome it. However this should have happened along time ago there has been a lot of foot dragging on this issue and I would hope that it wasnt due to the forthcoming election. The Council in Bray has worked hard on this issue for a long time now and hopefully when open it will be a massive public asset for the entire community. Brady continued " The local schools should also benefit from this as up until now schools had to organise buses to bring school children to Wicklow Town for swimming lessons." However Cllr. Brady did raise one concern " The council should look at the entrance however, it will be using the same entrance which is used for the Ballywaltrim Recreational Park and Giltspur Hts. as it currently stands it is very dangerous and at the best of times difficult to get in and out for users of the park and local residents, the council must address this issue before bringing more cars into the area." In conclusion Cllr Brady Said " I think this is a good day for all the people of Bray and look forward to it completion, I also look forward to the completion of the swimming pool in Greystones." |
