Aughrim to Meetings Road "Traffic Hazard", says KellyFriday, April 13 2007Cllr. Nicky Kelly has urgently appealed to Wicklow County Council to repair and upgrade the L6168 road, this road from the Meetings of the Waters to Aughrim Junction is one of the worse traffic hazards in the county.
Cllr. Kelly was handed a petition, which was signed by 70 residents protesting of their despair at the condition of the road. The road itself covers the townlands of Knockanode, Coolafalk & Ratheenavine. Cllr. Kelly has since forwarded the petition to the engineers at Wicklow County Council and is awaiting a positive response from them. The road itself has suffered major subsidence, with large creator like potholes and the drainage has become a flooding problem for adjacent households. The residents, locals, and people travelling to and from work, tourists & farmers alike are constantly using the road under threat. The school bus also uses the L6168 and has serious concerns over safety. Immediate action must be taken before there is a serious accident on this widely used stretch of road. |
