Arklow and North Wales in Joint Electric Venture

Imera is a joint venture between Norwegian company Oceanteam and private investors including CEO Rory O'Neill.

The route of the first connection will run from Arklow, Co Wicklow, to Pentir in north Wales. Imera says it will have 'negligible' environmental impact. It is due to be completed by 2010.

Imera also says the project will increase Irish energy capacity by 7% by 2010.
