Boru

Boru
Arklow-based `Boru' were among the top ballad and folk groups in Ireland throughout the 1980's and enjoyed many appearances on the `big stages' of Ireland and other countries along with numerous television appearances.

Formed by former All-Ireland banjo champion, John Hogan and Tommy Breen, the group went through a few personnel changes in its time but always managed to woo audiences no matter where they appeared. John is still going strong in Ireland while Tommy has continued his music interest abroad.

This album captures the song writing talents of Hogan, Breen and some other County Wicklow people such as Bill Bonner and Toddy Kennedy while it also features the beautiful `America Cried' by Finbar Furey.

Nineteen Arches
This song, written by Arklow's Toddy kennedy and Avoca's John Nolan, is a tribute to the town of Arklow, particularly its famous bridge. This song has also been performed by Setanta.

The World Cup Party
Refers to the 1994 World Cup, not the Japan/Korea one. Just as good though!
Real Audio Version (streaming) | Mp3 version (2.5Mb)
