New Nissan TIIDA - Are You Sitting Comfortably?Wednesday, December 5 2007Nissan's quest to be at the forefront of automotive design has resulted in the recent development of some highly acclaimed, ground-breaking new models. Examples include the recently launched Note and Qashqai, part of Nissan's replacement strategy for the Almera range. Following on from these two very successful launches the arrival of the new Tiida, with the introduction of a four door saloon and five door hatchback, will complete the Almera replacement strategy offering buyers a range of more lifestyle oriented cars to choose from in this segment. By focussing on the needs of the likely customer for the Tiida, Nissan's design engineers have ensured Tiida is easy to live with. Large, wide-opening doors and best-in-class hip points in the front and rear of the car mean getting into and out of the car has been made as easy as possible. Space, comfort and luxury were also very important considerations for Nissan when designing the new Tiida to suit the demands of its potential customers. This can be seen in the larger than average dimensions which can be found in the car. With a cabin length of 1839mm Tiida it is not only the roomiest car in its class - but also boasts more interior space and legroom than many much larger executive cars. In addition to the class leading levels of space the extra large seats provided in the Tiida provide a seating area that's almost as wide and comfortable as that found in much more expensive luxury cars and the attention to detail and use of the highest quality materials in the interior reward the driver and its occupants with a luxurious and refined drive. Two engine options are available for consumers to choose from in the Tiida range - a 1.6 litre petrol model, delivering 81kW/110hp and a 1.5 litre diesel option delivering 78kW/105hp. Both engines provide not only strong performance and good fuel economy, but also low emissions and high levels of refinement. In addition to this the car comes in two levels of specifications, SE & SVE. The standard SE model offers a comprehensive level of equipment including four airbags, air conditioning, Bluetooth phone integration, Isofix child seat anchorage points, electric windows, front active headrests, keyless entry and immobiliser. Pricing for the 1.6 petrol SE model starts at €20,995 for both the four and five door versions. The diesel option, which will be available in July, will cost €23,845. The higher SVE grade adds climate control, drive computer, cruise control, front and rear armrests, rain sensing wipers and auto headlamps. These extra features cost €1,500 extra in both the petrol and diesel versions. |
