Greystones Marina Development
This is the website of a group opposing the plans of Wicklow County Council for the redevelopment of Greystones harbour. It is a comprehensive site with plenty of information about the issues at stake. It also includes updated news, a public forum and much more.

This is British Nuclear Fuels Ltd.'s website - including quite a bit of information on Sellafield. Its very polished, but there's no information about what happens if things go wrong.

Brayvet Animal Hospital
This site has all the information you could want on the Brayvet animal hospital, including hours, services, staff information, a few links, and an email address.

The Monkey Sanctuary
The Monkey Sanctuary in Rathdrum is home to fourteen capuchin monkeys and this site contains information on their background and habitat. You can also sponsor a monkey if you wish as the sanctuary is always in need of donations.

Sharpeshill Animal Sanctuary
Sharpeshill Animal Sanctuary, near Rathdrum is dedicated to the welfare of animals in Wicklow. The site contains advice on caring for your animals, adopt-a pet information, success stories and a section known as Pet Heaven where you can post a dedication to your loved pets who have died.

Irish Animals on the Web - Wicklow
This site is like a 'personals' for pets. A list of dogs and cats that need homes. You can even email for a more complete list.

Wicklow SPCA
A comprehensive site from the Wicklow Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the group who run the Sharpeshill Animal Sanctuary. They place dogs, cats and other animals with families that will love, cherish and care for them, and are well worth supporting!

Located just over the Wicklow border in Co Dublin, close to Enniskerry. It is an area with a variety of habitats which support a diverse range of birds, mammals and insects. The hill has an interesting geological history and a rich archaeological past

Maybe this should be in the entertainment section. Anyays, its a grand site Miley. Information on facilities and special events with directions and even pictures. Its also got a links section and an email contact.

National Sea Life Centre
Sea Life Centre is located in Bray and also has several other locations throughout Europe. This is a very fancy site. Full of flashy images and funky sounds. But be waarned, if you have a slow connection it will take a while to load.

Radon map of Wicklow
This is a map of Wicklow from the National Radon Survey. Some areas of the county are quite high in radon.

Recycling in Wicklow
Information on recycling schedules in county Wicklow from Wicklow.com. The info dates from December, 2000 so hopefully there's more collection points now. (P.S. the secret to recycling is to buy 3 bins)

River Water Quality for County Wicklow (EPA)
An excellent map from the Environmental Protection Agency showing river quality throughout the county, particularly the Avoca river and Vartry river drainage areas. It doesn't show the pollution of the Avoca river though.

Strategic Planning Guidelines (SPG) for the Greater Dublin Area
This body reports on strategies for future development in an area that includes all of Co. Wicklow. The pages are accessed from a drop down list which makes maneuvering through the site a bit of a pain. But you will find a lot of information here if you are interested in knowing about long-term plans for the county

Track Erosion in the Wicklow Mountains
This page by the Mountaineering Council of Ireland gives details of walking tracks in the Wicklow mountains that are suffering serious erosion and so should be avoided. Why wreck what you come to see?
