NOT ONLY ARE THE COUNCIL CONTENT WITH DESTROYING THE HARBOUR BY HANDING IT OVER (FOR FREE) TO A PRIVATE CONSORTIUM TO BUILD APARTMENTS, HOUSES AND A PRIVATE MARINA BUT NOW THERE IS AN APPLICATION WITH THE COUNCIL TO BUILD 30 APARTMENTS WITH BALCONIES AND TERRACES ON THE OLD SHELL PETROL STATION SITE ON VICTORIA ROAD. WE CAN NOW LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WASHING AND BICYCLES AND PATIO FURNITURE ON OUR WAY DOWN RATHDOWN ROAD. WHAT A SIGHT. ALSO THERE IS AN APPLICATION WITH THE COUNCIL TO BUILD 15 APARTMENTS ON CHURCH ROAD BEHIND SOMERSET. THESE WILL CONSIST OF 3 OR 4 BLOCKS. SUCH DEVELOPMENTS SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED IN THE INTEREST OF PRESERVING THE VISTA OF GREYSTONES. STOP THIS MADNESS BEFORE GREYSTONES IS DESTROYED FOREVER. This is good news as it allows us the opportunity to reject the revised plans submitted by Wicklow County Council. Keep an eye on www.greystonesmarina.com for more info about this and about the ways in which you can register your objections. Also, if you'd like to see how the harbour views will disappear if the development plan goes through, take a look at http://www.buildgreystonesharbournow.com Basil Miller <zilmiller@gmail.com> - Monday, December 11, 2006 at 14:10:17 (GMT) Protest meeting at Bray Town Hall 7.00pm to 7.30pm every first and second tuesday of the month, highlighting the need for a FULLTIME FIRE SERVICE to North Wicklow. We are Carol, Julie (my twin) and Janne. we are looking for 4 friends that we lived with in Munich between 1990-1992. We were 19-20 yrs old then. We lived with Niall, Johnny, Keiran and Sid (Niall's big brother). they are from Greystones and we all lived at Bodensee Straßße, Westkreuz south of the city. We were a musicians B&B! and we known as the 'hole in the wa' gang'. We would love to know their whereabouts so we can get in touch again. Kierran may have went off to tour USA/Canada after we left and he may now be an English teacher. Please help as we had such a laugh and we have all the old photos out. thanks. carol Mckenzie <C.Mckenzie@sbe.hw.ac.uk> - Wednesday, February 08, 2006 at 15:40:09 (GMT)
