been in top form all week and Irish hopes were high that he could go all the way and take the title.
However, the talented Arklow boxer, whose father Jim is Manager of the Irish team, was beaten on points by Anthony Thompson during today's bout in the Odyssey Arena in Belfast.
James was beaten by 36 points to 24 by the wily American who availed of every opportunity to land punches on his tough Co. Wicklow opponent. However, Moore's performance leaves him in a top position in boxing circles not just in Ireland but across the world and has earned him a huge reputation.
A number of Arklow people made the trip from Arklow this morning to the Belfast arena including many relatives and friends while Independent Councillor from the town, Nicky Kelly also travelled for the event.
