The battle of all battles is to be fought this Sunday in the Aughrim County Grounds for it is the Camogie County Championship Final. This promises to be the match of the year with pride on the line for both competing teams. It is a replay of last years final with Avondale and Kiltegan and both teams have a point to prove.
Avondale arose victorious from last years final after a dramatic and tantalising end whereby the Green and White of Avondale won by 1 goal. Kiltegan gave their all as it was their second successive year in the Championship final.
This year it is Kiltegans third successive final and they will be

looking for third time lucky. However, Avondale is hungrier than ever and are determined to hold onto their title. With excellent players throughout the team Avondale feel they have the skill and experience needed to overhaul what will be a strong-minded Kiltegan side.
This Avondale team has played together for many years and has formed a very determined and skilful group of women who will play out of their skins to bring back the cup two years in a row. Also over the past year a number of new members have joined to add strength and options to the Avondale Trainer Pat Jordan who is aware of his teams talent and is instilling a fire under the hearts of the Avondale girls to prove themselves as great players by winning two years in a row. This is a tournament they take very seriously and would appreciate as much support as possible on Sunday. The match is fixed for 7.15 p.m. Sunday 12th August.
Avondale promise to provide a gritty and heart-stopping performance ensuring they bring the Cup home to Avondale. Come and support us and let us hear you shout "Up the Dales". A great party is promised after when spirits will hopefully be high.
