Wicklow to come away with a victory. However, Roscommon showed that Galway, last year's all-Ireland finalists, are not invincible and if Wicklow is to show the same measure of skill and determination as they did against Longford it could make for a very entertaining encounter.
Home advantage should be worth a few scores to Wicklow who now seem to have thrown caution to the wind by going all out for victory rather than trying to be too scientific. If they can pressurise the Galway defence in the same way that Roscommon did, then it could bring about a great result for the Garden County.
Week-End Results
The intermediate hurling championship was the major competition over the week-end and resulted in wins for Glenealy, Carnew and Kiltegan. Glenealy beat Aughrim by 1-9 to 0-6, Carnew had a comprehensive 5-14 to 0-4 over St. Patrick's while Arklow Rock Parnells gave a walk-over to Kiltegan.
