`Time-Out' is a very important factor in the lives of a basketball team from Avondale Community College right now…and it has nothing to do with taking a breather from gruelling activity on the court.

For this team has just reached the All-Ireland final of the Cadbury's sponsored ` Time Out' league and will be hoping to take out St. Aidan's of Coothill, Co. Cavan in the final next month.
Having conquered the early stages of this under-19 league, the Avondale team travelled to Cork last week-end to take part in the play-off stages and beat Carlow C.B.S., St. Patrick's from Shannon and a school from Fermoy to earn a place in the All-Ireland final.
Team coach Catheriona Hanafin told Wicklowtoday.com that the team has been together since first year and play very well as a unit. `It was a tremendous achievement to reach the final because once you go outside the county you just don't know what to expect', she added.
School Principal, Sean Walsh said it is a tremendous boost for the college to reach an All-Ireland final and he paid tribute to each member of the team and their coach, Catheriona. ` We will be there in force to support them in the final', said a beaming Sean.
Members of the successful team are - Eamonn Kearns, Shane McGrath, Shane Burch, Fiach O'Toole, Mark McDonald, Derek McMullen, Martin Madden, Ross Turner, Matthew Cleere, P.J. Brady and Philip Maskcu.
