Wicklow Developing Solid Presence on the Internet

"County Wicklow is developing a solid presence on the Internet", says WicklowToday's Graham Caswell, who has just completed researching and writing the most comprehensive and complete directory of Wicklow-related websites ever assembled.
"There's about three hundred sites, ranging from simple B & B sites to the large scale and complex web presence of several of county Wicklow's software companies", says Caswell. "There are also a lot of websites for things like golf courses and walking tours - mostly focused at potential tourists", he says. However Caswell pointed out that WicklowToday.com is not focusing on the tourist market itself, but is instead hoping to attract Internet users who actually live in county Wicklow. "We won't have any leprechauns on the site and we'll keep the 'among the Wicklow hills' stuff to a minimum" he says.
A few minutes surfing through the directory reveals a wealth of information on county Wicklow, much of it very useful and some of it very interesting. There are sections on art, the environment, community, business, shopping, food and drink and much more. Each section is further divided and the whole effect is fast and easy-to-navigate. it is planned to do a full and comprehensive update of the directory every few months.
Although the web directory is up and running ( see www.wicklowtoday.com/directory ) the WicklowToday.com website as a whole is still under construction and will not be publically launched until the end of June.
