Greystones Dart Services Disrupted
Friday, August 10th, 2001
Daniel New
The Dart service out of Greystones was disrupted today due to an electrical fault in the signalling system at Dalkey station and trains will only operate on a half hourly roster out of Greystones until the fault can be rectified. Commuters are as usual advised to allow plenty of time when travelling and expect delays. Normal services are running from Dunlaoighre to Dublin City centre and beyond out to Howth.
The exact cause of the fault in the signalling system is as yet unknown

apart from the fact that it is electrical. Commuters travelling north bound to destinations on the Dart line and into the capital were seriously inconvenienced today with what many feel is yet another failure to provide a reliable and professionally run service.
Iarnrod Eireann for their part said that they were working as quickly as possible to identify and correct the fault in the signalling system. They apologised for the inconvenience to passengers and hoped to have the situation rectified as soon as possible.
