Man in Lucky Escape as Car Careers Across Killer Road

A 73 year old man from Hollywood in Co. Down had a narrow escape from serious injury this afternoon after his car careered across one of the most dangerous roads in Co. Wicklow and ended up in the ditch on the far side.

driving towards Dublin when his vehicle veered across the road at Scratnagh, near Arklow, an area that has been the scene of many fatal accidents in the past few years.
Gardai at the scene described it as a `miracle' that no vehicles were travelling on the road at the time. It is one of the busiest roads in the county and has consequently become one of the biggest killers.
