One man has been questioned and further arrests are imminent in relation to a spate of crime in Arklow and Wicklow in the past three weeks. Most of the crime involving break-ins was concentrated over the Easter bank holiday week-end during which property, a car and charity boxes were stolen.
A file is about to be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions in relation to the man who

was arrested and questioned by Gardai in the past twenty four hours. Gardai have confirmed that others will soon be arrested and questioned in relation to the spate of crime.
Arklow Golf club was broken into on two occasions in the past fortnight and one hundred
pounds in cash was stolen. Then on Good Friday night the Stone Oven café on Lower Main Street and Burke's Laundrette on Main Street were entered. A Lifeboat money box was taken from the Stone Oven while another charity box was stolen from the Laundrette.
On Easter Monday night a house on Mahon's Lane was illegally entered and the intruders stole
a handbag containing the keys to the owners car. They took the car and drove to Wicklow town

where they carried out raids on Tesco Supermarket, netting a television and video and Madden's newsagents where the intruders stole phone cards.
It is now known if any of the property has yet been recovered but Gardai are satisfied that
all the perpetrators of the crimes will be charged and brought before the courts in the near future.
