The starting gun has not yet been fired but Labour candidate Nicky Kelly is already on his way down the race-track with the appearance of his first batch of general election posters.

surrounding signs literally. Could Nicky be asking for a ban on `auction’ politics with the for sale sign while at the same time pointing to a future for Wicklow through the `Waste Disposal ‘ signpost where illegal dumping across the county will have to reach an end.
Could the `Stop’ sign be telling the government to cease neglecting Co. Wicklow which, he has often claimed, the Fianna Fail administration has been doing? Maybe there was no other available space on the particular wall at Moran’s Garage in Avoca?
No matter what is behind Nicky’s premature start in the race he will be happy to be first out of the stalls even if the other parties tell him that he has made a false start.
