cottage industry. The building, which operated as a flour mill throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, is currently in a
dilapitated condition and will need a major injection of funds to put it right.
Local Labour councillor and former County council chairman Jimmy O'Shaughnessy publically raised the issue recently and has since been offered major support and help to seek out funds. Part of the reason the project is so popular is the long associations that the old mill has for many people in Rathdrum. Councillor O'Shaugnessy believes that it would be an ideal location for art and cottage industry and also for a county GAA museum.
A committee is being formed at the end of August.
