Timmins Calls on Council to Allocate Funding for Host Towns

A call has been made on Wicklow County Council to allocate funds to Towns in the county that are hosting teams in the Special Olympics in June of next year.

different areas are working very hard at fund raising, there will still be a shortfall'.
He added that local communities will need all the assistance they can get in the selected towns that include Arklow, Baltinglass, Bray, Dunlavin, Greystones and Rathdrum.
`This will be the most momentus sporting event ever held in Ireland. The host town programme is one of the key elements of the World Games and involves the whole community. It is very important that funding is provided by the Council so that the programme will be successful', the Fine Gael Deputy said.
