Teenage Boy Rescued Following Fall in Glenmalure

A 14 year old boy suffered chest and back injuries after he slipped while climbing on a waterfall in the Glenmalure Valley on the weekend. However, The Dublin/Wicklow Mountain Rescue Team was quickly on the scene after being contacted by an ambulance crew.

The boy was evacuated from the waterfall by the Eastern Regional Health Authority ambulance crew and the two mountain rescue teams to a waiting ambulance.

He was then moved to a waiting Irish Coastguard Helicopter and airlifted to hospital.

The mountain rescue teams would like to thank all involved including the Irish Coastguard, National Park Rangers,Eastern Regional Health Authority.
