outstanding contributions by individuals and organisations to the local economy and to the cultural and civic development of the area.
East Coast FM, which includes hotelier Jim McGettigan, former county manager Blaise Tracey and Denis O'Brien's Communicorp Group amongst it's shareholders celebrated it's 10th birthday last November. Earlier this month was the sole applicant to the BCI (Broadcasting Commission of Ireland) for the next radio licence for County Wicklow (2003 to 2013).
The station, which is the market leader in County Wicklow, is planning to move to a new state-of-the-art broadcasting centre in Bray, later this year in July.
"We're delighted to receive this recognition of our commitment and contribution to the Bray and County Wicklow area, and we are looking forward to the next 10 years", said Managing Director Seán Ashmore.
East Coast FM employs 28 full-time staff at it's Bray base, is a founding shareholder in the new speech station for Dublin, NewsTalk 106FM and is a member of the KFM consortium bidding for the new recently advertised Kildare licence (application submitted to the BCI on Friday Apr 26th).
