WicklowToday.com to Launch Soon

Graham Caswell, the main developer of the website, says that he is aiming for county Wicklow Internet users who need useful information about the county. "If someone wants to know what's on in the cinema in Wicklow town, or what the local weather forecast looks like or to find out about the county council, its all here", said Caswell. "We have a mailing list, notice boards for buying, selling or looking for a job, free email. We are trying to provide whatever information the local county Wicklow Internet user might need". Future plans include an online shop, photo gallery and WAP pages for mobile phone users.

Until now, most people thinking about the Internet have thought globally or nationally. However, now that over 22% of Irish people are on-line, there are enough people interested in local information to make a local website viable. WicklowToday.com will seek to cover its costs through advertising.

Although the WicklowToday.com website is currently live, it is still under heavy construction and will not be publicised until towards the end of June. "We have a full marketing plan lined up", says Caswell. "If you use the Internet you'll know we're here by the end of the summer".

WicklowToday.com certainly looks good - and the website's web directory is by far the best directory of county Wicklow websites available on the Internet. The site is fast and simple to navigate and its updated several times a day with fresh content. There's a lot here and its certainly worth checking out.
