New Landslide Closes Greystones to Dalkey Rail Line

Another landslide on the Killiney section of the rail track has again stopped the Dart service between Greystones and Dalkey. The new landslide comes just five days after the previous incident, which closed the line for one week and stopped the mainline Rosslare inter-city running into Dublin. The new landslide is reported to have occurred north of Killiney station and is not in the same area as the previous landslide.

of debris is not as big as the earlier landslide. However the present weather conditions are not helping the situation and safety inspections will again have to be carried out to ensure against the possibility of further landslides. As a result of the clearance operations the Dart service between Greystones and Dalkey is temporally suspended.
The situation has also effected the mainline Rosslare inter-city service, which will now only run as far as Bray station. Busses will be laid on to transfer commuters to their end destinations. The evening mainline Dublin to Arklow commuter train will also be effected and passengers are again advised to check before setting out on their journey.
