Following agreement by Dart train drivers to accept a deal hammered out between their union representatives and Iarnrod Eireann a full service should be in place within the next two weeks. This means a proper service to Greystones should commence as originally envisaged

before disruption to the service was brought on by the driver's disapproval of additional duties connected with the schedule to Greystones.
This is good news for the hard-pressed commuters who have struggled with recent strikes and unofficial stoppages. The Dart service, which was introduced in 1984, carries an estimated 80,000 passenger's daily. It has been steeped in controversy since the dispute over the Greystones route erupted with drivers refusing to operate a full service until they were properly compensated for the extra work involved in bringing the train to the County Wicklow seaside town.
