Mudslide Halts Dart Service

More Dart cancellations are in place today following Thursday night's torrential rains, which not only brought down overhead cables but also caused a mudslide onto the tracks at Killiney station on Friday. Iarnrod Eireann has cancelled all Dart services from Greystones and Bray for Saturday and the likelihood of the service coming on line again for Sunday look dismal.

Killiney section of the track can not be discounted and a decision was made to stop that section of the service pending investigation of the entire Killiney section of the line. It is understood that crews are working frantically to clear the mudslide and assess the possibility of further slides today or later this evening.
The weather forecast for the remainder of the weekend does not spell good tidings for the Dart service as more heavy rains are predicted. Monday morning commuters from Greystones and Bray are advised to check if the service is running before setting out on any journeys.
