coastal schemes around our coasts. Concerns that the local seabed habitat may be damaged were proved correct with the appearance of an abundance of dead marine life on Brays Seafront during the week.
However the local urban council have pointed out that responsibility for the overall project lies with the Department for the Marine and no literature would appear to be available from Bray Urban District Council outlining details of the project other
than the public notice board down by Brays seafront promenade. Any additional enquires on the coastal protection scheme presently need to be directed to The Department of the Marine directly. In their defence the Council can provide a local on site telephone number to their project manager should anyone wish to urgently enquire.
The project has attracted a considerable amount of public attention and was given the go ahead despite over 4,500 signatures been submitted on a petition objecting to the development. The Beachwatch group in particular was very concerned at the fact that six Bray councillors supported the development and ignored the obvious wishes and worries of a large section of the local population.
